KHS Sports Hall of Fame
The idea for a Kennett High School Sports Hall of Fame was conceived by George T. Davidson and promoted by him to a number of interested Kennett Alumni as well as to local Kennett supporters. Shortly after an exploratory meeting in the summer of 1990, a committee was formed and work began to establish a hall of fame governance and selection process to begin selection of charter members. The goal was to celebrate the first inductees in the fall of 1991.
The objective of the Kennett High School Sports Hall of Fame is to recognize individuals, male and female, who have brought honor and distinction to Kennett High School athletics. This accomplishment may be earned through participation as an athlete, coaching or assisting as a support individual in athletic programs at Kennett.
Two classes of individuals are eligible for selection into the Sports Hall of Fame, student athletes and other individuals that have given outstanding service to Kennett High School athletics. A student athlete must have attended Kennett High School, received at least one varsity sports letter and graduated from high school a minimum of eight years prior to induction.
A student athlete must have demonstrated outstanding ability and/or leadership while representing Kennett High School as an athlete. Athletic achievements beyond those at Kennett May be considered in the selection process as may involvement in athletics through coaching, officiating, or athletic administration that is noteworthy. Other individuals must have given outstanding service to Kennett High School athletic activities as a coach, as an administrator, as a local or national media representative, or a supporter or volunteer.
If you know of an individual(s) who meets this criteria we encourage you to fill out a nomination form and return it to the committee so we can contact these individuals to have them fill out their nominee applications.
